Shon was born and raised in Iowa where he has lived his entire life. He was saved at a young age and raised in a home where he was taught to love God, His church, and His Word. After high school he pursued a major in business, but unknown to him at the time, God had other plans for his life. After two years, he transferred from the University of Iowa to pursue the study of pastoral ministries at Faith Baptist Bible College & Seminary.
It was during his time at Faith that Shon would meet Angela and be married in 1999. It was in those same years that he would begin working part-time in the Student Life Department. Graduation from seminary in 2001 allowed him the opportunity to pursue his passion of seeing college aged men and women grow in their walk with Christ on a full-time basis.
It was in 2006, while still working at Faith, that Shon and Angela became a part of the ministry of Community Baptist Church. It was an easy decision as CBC was a place with Biblical preaching, loving people, and a growing passion to see God glorified. After the retirement of the founding pastor, Shon was asked to serve as the second pastor in the history of CBC which he accepted in 2013.
Shon and Angela have enjoyed 24 years of marriage and have been blessed with three children (Alison, Parker and Austin).
