Most people believe they are going to heaven because they believe in God, they attend mass or church services, or they try to live a good life. But these people only hope that they will make it to heaven, they do not know.
The Bible teaches that you can know that you have eternal life. The Bible says in 1 John 5:13, "I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life."
Here are the 5 things you should know:
1. You need to be saved
"...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23
"...unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." John 3:3
2. You cannot save yourself
"But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy." Titus 3:4-5
3. Jesus has provided for your salvation
"He (Jesus) himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed." 1 Peter 2:24
"For God so loved the world, that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
4. You must accept Jesus for salvation
“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved." Acts 16:31
"But to all who did receive Him (Jesus), who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God." John 1:12
5. Now is the time to accept Jesus as your savior
"Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation." 2 Corinthians 6:2

Don't be deceived into thinking you are too good to need a Savior. Nicodemus, a good and moral religious teacher, was told "you must be born again." John 3:7.
Don't think you are too bad and could never be saved. To the woman caught in adultery, Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more." John 8:11.
It is clear from Scripture that God loves you and Christ died on the cross to pay for your sins. You can become a child of God today if you will honestly turn from sin to Christ for mercy and forgiveness. Will you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior today?
